Personally, as a photographer, I think the images with the most impact have a connection to the eyes in the portrait. Even when the model is looking away, you can often read emotion in the glance away from the camera. My favourite is a direct gaze into the lens though. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul and I tend to agree. Whenever Miss M stared into the camera it created a powerful image – you could clearly see her emotions in her eyes throughout the session. Miss M wanted to surprise her guy with a beautiful book of photos and she definitely had lots of stunning images to choose from.
